MIT Makes Super-Still Underwater Robot

Suppose the Navy was able to deploy a fleet of mine-defusing robots.  Cool, right?  Only suppose the robots weren’t able to hold a position for any amount of time.  The robots would end up “defusing” the mines by bumping into them and blowing everything to bits.

In the television series version of “The Dead Zone,” the U.S. used psychics to track enemy combatants.  Now at least a few people are indicating that the same end has more or less been achieved, with technology instead of telepaths managing the feat.
