U.K. Police To Use Fingerprint Scanners

It’s supposed to reduce confusion and save all sorts of time and money.  Given who’ll be carrying the device, it may save property and lives, too.  Say hello to the mobile fingerprint scanner, which police in the U.K. are expected to be using on a large scale within about a year and a half.

As things stand today, a spy plane or satellite might take some photos, and then an analyst will look them over for significant details.  DARPA wants to automate the process and make comparisons to old footage instantaneously.

If you know much about planes and aircraft carriers, you know that the former completely depend on the latter; there’s no way to gently set an F-16 down in the ocean.  However, it looks like DARPA wants to create a plane that can go right in with no problems whatsoever.
