AOL Launched in India

Here’s America Online trying to make a come back for ya - a classic Web2.0 website and an equally good webmail for the Indian mass.

AOL have finally launched their webservices in India. The website, AOL.in is a traditional Web2.0 site which caught my fancy right away. Any regular web user would notice that it resembles the Yahoo! home page to a great extent!

The webmail was another attractive feature that I liked. The interface is Ajax based and is very responsive. AOL combines both the features of Yahoo! Mail with that of Gmail. It features folders and also has a vacation responder. The only disadvantage may be that you cannot remove their webmark which is added on all outgoing mails. (This can however, be bypassed by a certain trick which requires you to use Gmail)

So go ahead, and get yourself an ID at AOL.in.

PS, for my regular readers- an apology… offline work kept me from updating TB. I’ll try not to repeat that again though!
