Create Fake Email Accounts for Unwanted Sites
Published by Sunny on March 21st, 2007 in Online Software, Tips and Tricks
In the age of spam, its common to receive 100-200 spam emails a day in your inbox. So how do you avoid these? Simple, by using fake email accounts that automatically expire after an amount of time.
There are plenty of websites providing such services for free. Here is an overview of such websites that can be used to signup at unwanted sites, or sites that you doubt send out spam.
The best two websites that I’ve known for providing temporary email accounts are Mailinator and MyTrashMail. There is nothing much to tell about both the sites. The former provides an instant email account that can be used right away, while the latter allows you to create your own email account with any name.
A new addition to this club is Mintemail. This is a web2.0 site that features Ajax to automatically refresh the page to show you your emails. Like MyTrashMail, Mintemail too allows you to have custom addresses.
In addition to these services, Prospector has a nice list of sites that provide this service as well.
At TechnoBeta, we respect your privacy, and your email address will not be given out to anybody. But, comments using such email addresses will not be published on the site. Such services have been marked as spam, and all comments written will automatically be deleted.
Edit: Thats what you guys wanted? Then be it! ![]()

How ironic is it that you tell us about these sites then don’t accept them yourself
