Microsoft Publishes List of Certified Apps for Vista
Published by Sunny on February 25th, 2007 in News - ViewsGood news for all you Vista fanatics and probable buyers, in light of recent speculations that there are many softwares that don’t work with Windows Vista, Microsoft has gone ahead to publish a list of applications that have earned the “Certified for Windows Vista” or the “Works with Windows Vista” logo.
The list applies to both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Vista.
The certification is a sign that the application in question has passed Microsoft’s rigorous testing program and is “Vista capable”. Four core areas have been targeted for this, namely reliability, security, compatibility with Windows Vista and future operating systems, and installation and removal.
On the other hand, the “Works with Windows Vista” logo is a compatibility designation that is designed to encourage Windows Vista compatibility for the current generation of Windows-based applications.
Microsoft says that new applications are being added on a regular basis, and that there are many softwares out there that are missing the certifications, yet work with Vista.
