Permanently Activate Windows Vista by Skipping Activation
Published by Sunny on December 25th, 2006 in News - Views, Tips and TricksThanks to the eagerness of some hackers, Windows Vista can now be permanently activated by just skipping the activation using a patched TimerStop.sys.
Until recently, Microsoft had the upper hand on Vista’s security. Since last week, it seems like they’re losing it. First it was a Russian Forum posting a exploit code, and today its KEZNews (link removed) posting a how-to-crack Vista article.
Edit: I have removed the links and the how-to since many regarded it as illegal and/or against Microsoft. I have no intention of spreading piracy. I infact, encourage the use of legit software. If you want to activate Windows Vista Permanently, then shell out the money and BUY it!
Cheers,
Santosh

I installed Vista RTM without serial key and during installation i set bios date 31/12/2099, and after installation I change it to the current date using bios….
I have the Message”30 days of activate.Activate windows now” windows properties window…..So my question is whats is the difference/limitation in my installation/method.
I can update it from MS update.
I install Vista RTM 23-11-2006….and it is completed 1 month.

@ Neel Sen,

Better to use linux than crack vista. Even a pirated copy of windows increases microsoft’s installed base, for chrissake.

@bah
the problem with alot of ppl is that they play games and games do not run on linux[i'm talkin' abt good games]..
second,a lot of ppl think that linux is for geeks and not user-friendly but Suse is quite easy ti grasp..
third, you don’t get linux easily..it’s not put up for sale in any computer shoppe..
fourth,we indians think free material is of low quality..
fifth,a lot of ppl dunno even that linux can be a substitute for microsoft..they think of it as some bluemoon software..
lastly, linux lacks the look according to a lot of ppl..

For your third point, you can always easily download it off a torrent or FTP or wherever. Its cheaper than Windows, you can pay 50 bucks at a local cyber cafe for downloading and writing it onto a CD if you don’t have a net connection (or limited bandwith) at home.
And for your last point, ever tried XGL on Ubuntu ?

well its to early to have a REAL cracked version of vista…microsoft will probably notice it and fix it within the first update… we’ll have to wait for sometime for a really stable Vista cracked version…. but still i tend to go with a original one… better if something goes really wrong…

well, this was the first method Sid.
The new method is fool proof and the only way MS can undo it is if they were to recall all those keys - which would be insane.
