Social Bookmarking at WordPress.com
Published by Sunny on January 17th, 2007 in WordPress tipsA feature lacking from Wordpress.com at the moment is Social Bookmarking. As we all know, Social Bookmarking is very important to a sites growth. But since WordPress.com blogs do not have this feature, you tend to miss out on a few thousand hits per article.
So then, how can you make sure you have social bookmarking marklets in each of your posts? Simple really, Oddiophile’s Technorati Tags Bookmarklet has been modified to produce simple Social Bookmarking bookmarklets. Here’s how you do it:
When you’ve finished writing a post on your WordPress.com blog, you then:
- Type in an entry to the post slug box. This forms part of the final URL. In this case the slug is social.
- Click on the bookmarklet.
- Type in the slug at the prompt.
- Copy the code it gives you, by pressing CTRL+C.
- Paste it into your entry where you want the links to appear.
Thats it, and enjoy WordPress.com.
If you liked this post, why not add it to some of the social bookmarks site? You’d help many others discover the joy of WordPress.com!
