WordPress 2.1 Glimpses
Published by Sunny on January 13th, 2007 in Internet, News - Views, WordPressLooking forward to WordPress 2.1 like the rest of us? Well, Lorelle has a list that shows whats new in the soon to be released WordPress 2.1.To begin with, here are some of the new features that are going to be implemented in WordPress 2.1:
- Custom Image Header API which will allow easier handling of adding custom header images to WordPress Themes.
- Right-to-Left (RTL) support for Arabic, Hebrew, and other right-to-left languages.
- Easier to read interface for the Administration Panels.
- AJAX for the WordPress Administration Panels and more control over user access and permissions.
- Integrated Spellchecker (a must have for bloggers like me!)
I’ve held off all WP upgrades for TechnoBeta Blog till the release of WordPress 2.1. My major worry is the incompatibility of certain plugins. I do hope plugin developers take care to update their plugins to match WordPress 2.1. Also, most importantly, WordPress Themes developers should also take care to update their themes.
