WordPress says ‘Lets Digg It’

Good news for WordPress.com blog owners, you can now add a ‘Digg It’ button to all your posts and let others Digg your story. That means no more tinkering with HTML or copy-pasting codes into each post.

Before you get excited and rush to your WordPress blogs, hold on - there’s a catch. Unlike the ‘Digg It’ button you get when you use a plugin, this method requires that you have already submitted the story to Digg. You can then edit the post and add the ‘Digg It’ button by keying in your Digg Story’s URL into this format [digg=http://digg.com/url_to/story_on_digg]. I find this rather unwanted and tedious because you still have to submit your story to Digg yourself, which really doesn’t change anything since there have already been loads of scripts and codes to do this.

Man, After reading the title I thought that Wordpress would enable a “Digg It” button by default.
