Yesterday’s Temporary Downtime
Published by Sunny on March 11th, 2007 in TechnoBeta StatusAs you may have noticed, yesterday at around 5 pm IST, TechnoBeta’s MySql server crashed. If that wasn’t bad enough, the entire server had a crash at around 7 pm IST. This was more than I could handle, the server had crashed atleast 3 times in the past 3 weeks.
At around 8pm, I decided to move hosting from the ExperTrio Network, to 1to5 - Web Services. The name server propogation took about 2 hours, and at 10 pm IST I had the site back up and running.
However, the latest backup I had was about 2 days old, meaning all the new posts since March 5th are gone. I will however, write those posts again and change the time stamps.
And finally, the TechnoBeta Forum is back up and running within an hour of getting TechnoBeta back.
I hope you forgive us for the problems caused (especially to those who came to view the Xbox 360 article, no more 404 now guys).

Sorry to hear that… I can see that so many comments have disappeared too. By the way, Is 1to5 web services a new host?

The Web Services is a new service, but I’ve been on the host since TB’s starting days!

How is that possible? Your friend’s or what?
